Project X

Released in 2012, Project X is an 18 rated film which follows the day of 3 High school seniors, Thomas (Thomas Mann), Costa (Oliver Cooper) and J.B (Jonathan Daniel Brown), who throw a birthday party to make a name for themselves. As the night progresses, things spiral out of control as word of the party spreads. This movie is an exagerrated version of a typical high school party, although some parts are completely outrageous its a very entertaning watch. The ovie is filmed from a first person perspective, which complements the style. This is one of my favourite movies, which, overall i would give a rating of 9.1/10.

Movie Review-Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2

Reviews

In the final chapter of the Harry Potter septology,we watch as Hary, Ron and Hermoine search for Voldemort's remaining horcruxes in an effort to destroy the dark lord once and for all. This is the second part of the seventh Harry Potter movies. In this epic finish the 'good' and 'evil' forces clash into a full scale war.
This movie is the perfect final piece to the puzzle, in what has been an epic saga of the Harry Potter movies. The movie lives up to the hype and is suprisingly unpredictable. The plot brings us through a rollercoaster of emotions, with twists and turns aplenty. It is hard to say much about the movie without including a spoiler but if you hapenned to enjoy the other Harry Potter movies/books you are bound to be entertained by this movie. Overall I would give this movie a rating of 9.1/10 and would highly recommend it to people of all ages.

Dallas Buyers Club-Movie Review

Dallas Buyers Club

Dallas Buyers Club is a 2013 biographical drama film starring Matthew McConaughey, Jared Leto and Jennifer Garner.
It's set in 1985 in Dallas, with electrician and hustler Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey) working around the system to help AIDS patients get the medication they need after he is himself diagnosed with the disease. Ron is an agressive and straight talking character and when he is diagnosed with this vicious virus and told he has just 30 days to live he refuses to back down. Based on a true story- about a hetrosexual good ol' boy in Dallas,Texas, this movie makes for an insightful and entertaining watch.
This movie is made by the excellent acting by Matthew McConaughey, which earned him an oscar for best actor. It is entertaining throughout without being truly brilliant and I felt it lacked a real spark.
Overall this is a movie that is definitely worth a watch, especally for the performance of McConaughey which was nothing short of spectacular. I would give this movie a rating of 7.8/10.

Wolf of Wall Street movie review.

The Wolf of Wall Street

The Wolf of Wall Street is a 2013 black comedy film directed by Martin Scorsese, based on the true story of Jordan Belfort(played by Leanardo DiCaprio), a New York stockbroker in the 1990s. Belfort starts with aim to be sucessful and become rich. By his early twenties Belfort had achieved excess success as founder of the brokerage firm Stratton Oakmont and had earned himself the title "The Wolf of Wall Street". Belfort is joined by his wolfpack in this adventure at the top end of wall street. Belforts firm is involved in securities fraud and corruption, and also has trouble in his personal life with the temptation of money, power, drugs and women all coming into play.
This is a movie that i believe had the potential to be much better, with an exciting storyline and top actors, Leanardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill for example. But to be honest i found the movie disappointing for the hype around it. Saying this there were some hilarious moments and excellent scenes, just in moderation. I also felt the movie dragged on a bit, with a running time of 2 hours 59 minutes. Overall it is not a movie i would particularly reommend and I would give it a rating of 7.3/10.
Thank you for reading this review, please give it a thumbs up and check out my other reviews if you enjoyed it.

Slumdog Millionarie-Movie Review

Slumdog Millionaire

Slumdog Millionaire is a 2008 British drama film directed by Danny Boyle. It is an adaption of the novel 'Q & A' by Indian Author Vikas Swarup. The movie was set and filmed in India and follows the story of Jamal Malik (Dev Patel) an eighteen year old who grew up in the slums of Mumbai who becomes a contestant on the Indian version of 'Who Wants To Be Millionaire'. Jamal is an uneducated, street kid and is expected to fail within the first couple of questions but this is not the case in this extraordinary insight into Jamal's life. Jamal has been accused of cheating and is being violently interrogated. Jamal recounts in flashback how he knows the answer to each question, each one linked to a key event in his life. He is one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees, 60 million viewers remain glued to their televisions eager to see if he'll correctly answer the final question can the young orphan from Mumbai really go from rags to riches?

This is a truly inspiring movie that also manages to be extremely entertaining. The plot is exceptional, making for a breathless and exciting story. With a love story mixed this is a movie that deservedly won 8 Academy Awards as well as seven BAFTA Awards (including Best Filmm), five Critics' Choice Awards, and four Golden Globes. Overall this is a movie that i would highly recommend and I would give it a rating of 9.4/10.

Ted movie review

 Ted

Ted is a 2012 American comedy film featuring actors such as Seth MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. Ted won its opening weekend with a $54 million gross at the box office. Ted focuses on a "romance versus bromance" theme and is brought to life by comedy throughout. Ted (Seth MacFarlane) is a living teddy bear who has been with John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) since his childhood and the pair have formed a close bond. This relationship is stretched as suddenly John has found the woman he loves Lori (Mila Kunis). Lori isn't happy with the current living situation and is adamant for Ted to move out. Ted is also going through a rough spell, depressed with no one to talk to,he has resorted to constant drug use. John is caught between the two most important people in his life in this light hearted comedy. This comedy ticks all the box; immature, offensive and very funny, with bits of comedy gold, especially between Ted and John. At times the movie lacks structure and can be crude but with good acting and constant jokes this is easily overcome. Overall i would highly recommend this movie and give it a rating of 8.5/10.
